Boxing

Not too many boxing enthusiasts think of Montreal when boxing in North America is mentioned. Usually, the first three places that come to mind are Las Vegas, New York City, and Atlantic City. The truth is, Montreal has, over the years, become one of the premier places where the best boxing matches are held.

In fact, Montreal has two world champions in Jean Pascal and Lucian Bute. The city also has an impressive array of fantastic prizefighters, including Herman Ngoudjo, Sebastian Demers, Joachim Alcine, and Adrian Diaconu.

Roller Derby

Roller derby has always been a favorite of Montreal local Frank Andreoli. Though not mainstream, roller derby is absolutely dynamic and a huge load of fun, which is why audiences are thoroughly entertained. The Montreal Roller Derby league has been recognized by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association or the WFTDA as its first member outside the United States.
